Maria Ortiz Borden, co-director of Pulse at the Upjohn Institute, has been named a Zaentz Community Fellow by Stanford’s Center on Early Childhood.
The Zaentz Community Fellowship Program brings together 11 individuals nominated by communities across the country engaged with the Stanford center's RAPID Survey Project. These fellows will explore how family, child care, community services, and cultural values intersect to shape early childhood experiences. The one-year program emphasizes using parent and community voices to guide change and policymaking.
Pulse, part of the Upjohn Institute's Center for Workforce Innovation and Solutions, or CWIS, works to increase child care supply and advance best practices at the regional and state levels and helps employers to navigate child care opportunities.
“Maria’s work to support sustainable change in childcare accessibility, workforce development and policy innovation continues to draw well-deserved recognition,” said CWIS Senior Director Ben Damerow.
